MODEL SHIPS |
An extensive collection of model ships throughout the Museum helps convey the development of maritime transport especially as it influenced the growth of Queensland and the operation of the Dry Dock. The collection ranges from early sailing ships to recent passenger liners, cargo ships and tankers. Models of sailing vessels include most of the more famous ships associated with the discovery and history of Australia, including the Endeavour, the Pandora and the Bounty. The Lucinda model is enhanced by artefacts from the ship that was used as a meeting place during the drafting of the Australian Constitution.
