MARINE ENGINES |
The Museum has a substantial collection of working vintage
engines, ranging from small steam engines, early outboard motors and single and
twin-cylinder inboards, that once powered fleets of "putt-putt"
launches throughout the state, through to massive submarine engines and, of
course, the triple expansion steam engines in Forceful and Diamantina.
See the working 1/8 scale model of a triple expansion steam engine, similar to those in Forceful and Diamantina.
Many of the exhibits are in working order, restored by Museum volunteers.
