An extensive collection of models in the Museum helps convey the development of maritime transport especially as it influenced the growth of Queensland and the operation of the Dry Dock. Admire the skill of craftsmen exhibited in models of ships from the days of the ancient Egyptians, through Mediaeval times to the Golden Age of sea travel when elegant liners plied the oceans of the world, not forgetting the mundane tasks performed by cargo ships and oil tankers.

The Museum has an extensive collection of models of sailing vessels including the Pandora and the Bounty. The Lucinda model is enhanced by artefacts from the ship that was used as a meeting place during the drafting of the Australian Constitution.
